ENMA 6010:  System Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis

Student Assessment

There are three primary means for assessing student performance in this course:

60%  Student team projects

30%  Tutorial assignment homework

10%  Class participation

Student Team Projects

Team projects are graded as follows:

33%  -  Project deliverables presented throughout the course

33%  -  Project final presentation

33%  -  Project final report

Scoring is as follows:

2 - Meets or exceeds defined requirements for the graded item

1 - Does not meet requirements

0 - Not submitted

·         1 point will be deducted for assignments submitted 1 week late.

·         Assignments will not be accepted if submitted more than 1 week late.

For the student team project, the entire team will receive the same project grade.  It is incumbent upon the team to insure that all team members contribute equally to the project deliverables.

Tutorial Assignment Homework

Students will complete tutorial assignment homework per the course schedule.  Each assignment will be scored on a 0-2 scale.  Scoring is as follows:

2 - Appropriate responses to all assignment questions

1 - Marginally acceptable responses

0 - Poor responses

·         1 point will be deducted for assignments submitted 1 week late.

·         Assignments will not be accepted 2 weeks or more after the due date shown on the course schedule (1 week grace period for first assignment).

Class Participation

All students are expected to be pro-actively engaged during class periods.  This is indicated by asking and answering questions, relating relative work experiences, and critiquing deliverable presentations by other project teams.  Each student’s class participation grade will be assessed by the instructor at the end of the course.  Grading scheme is 0 – 10 points.
