ENMA
6020:
Readings
The
supplemental text for this course is Innovation and Entrepreneurship –
Practices and Principles, by Peter F. Drucker.
Drucker’s book is divided into four
sections: The Practice of Innovation (11
chapters), The Practice of Entrepreneurship (4 chapters), Entrepreneurial
Strategies (4 chapters) and a Conclusion.
Students will complete the weekly reading assignments shown below, and
will complete the study question reading assignments linked below. Students can enter answers to the study
questions directly into the reading assignment Word documents (linked below) containing
the study questions. Students should
then put their completed study question word documents into the D2L drop box
for each reading assignment.
Note: for the vast majority of study questions, a
one or two sentence response is adequate.
The purpose of the study questions is to highlight key concepts in Drucker’s book. Your
goal is to identify and summarize these key concepts. Also note that keeping the study questions handy
while reading the text and scanning the text for key words in the study
questions usually leads the student directly to the study question answers,
which can be quoted directly from the book.
In
addition to these weekly reading assignments, students will integrate core
concepts from Drucker’s book into their team projects
as the “Entrepreneurial Strategies” team project deliverable.
