ENMA 6050:  Reliability, Failure Analysis, and Risk Assessment

 

Educational Objectives

 


Commensurate with the primary knowledge/skill/experience areas covered in the class, students completing this course should be able to:

 

  1. Characterize as-is performance of an existing or planned manufacturing or business system,
  2. Identify critical variables that impact process performance,
  3. Identify human factors and root causes that contribute to process reliability issues,
  4. Conduct a failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) on the process,
  5. Assess management-related issues that impact process reliability.
  6. Generate recommendations to improve the performance of an existing or planned manufacturing or business system.

 

Students will demonstrate capabilities in these areas primarily through presentations and written reports related to a real-world industry/business-sponsored student team project.
