Student
Evaluation
Student performance will be assessed using four
means:
Homework and assignments are measures of individual
performance, while team project work reflects team performance. Thus, each student’s assessment is composed
of 50% individual performance and 50% team performance. Teams are graded as a unit – all team members
receive the same grade.
Team Projects:
Students will be assigned to teams working on
projects that related to course lectures.
Each team will prepare a final written report (PDF) an oral presentation
(PowerPoint). Specific project
deliverables with due dates are provided to students at the beginning of the
course. Grades on reports and
presentations are as follows:
2 = Team completes all project deliverables in an
exemplary manner.
1 = Team completes all project deliverables in an
acceptable manner.
0 = Team does not complete all project deliverables
in an acceptable manner.
Lecture Homework
and Tutorial Assignments:
Homework and assignments provide an opportunity to
assess the student’s ability to apply course lecture materials.
Homework assignments will be assessed per:
2 = Completes all homework/assignment objectives in
an exemplary manner.
1 = Completes all homework/assignment objectives in
an acceptable manner.
0 = Does not completes all homework/assignment
objectives in an acceptable manner.
Homework is due by 5:00 on the due date. 1 point will be deducted for late homework/assignment. If a student anticipates submitting homework/assignment
late due to extenuating circumstances, the student should notify the instructor
before the due date.
